The familiar facade of a giant red chili pepper along with the restaurant name is already gone from Chili’s Bar & Grill and a dumpster now sits in the front of the building.

The restaurant at 8665 Memorial Blvd. in Port Arthur permanently closed its doors Tuesday.

A message on the door noted the closure and thanked the community for “many years of sizzling fajitas and good times within this building.”

Several people were seen at the now closed eatery and they appeared to be cleaning and removing items.

Port Arthur Newsmedia reached out to Brinker International, which is the parent company of Chili’s as well as Maggiano’s Little Italy and It’s Just Wings, on Thursday.

No response was provided.
