The Nederland Independent School District announced bus schedules are delayed for 30 minutes on Wednesday.

“Only the bus schedules will be delayed,” the district announced.

The Port Neches-Groves Independent School District announced that the bad weather and rain might force bus routes to run a little behind schedule on Wednesday.

“This will NOT impact the start of school. Thank you,” the district stated on social media.

According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana, rainfall amounts are expected to range from 1 to 6 inches across the region, with locally higher amounts of up to 8 inches.

Most of the rain is expected today, with showers and storms tapering off Wednesday morning.

The greatest potential will be along/south of a Kountze to Opelousas line.
