PORT NECHES — A 20-year-old Port Neches man was sentenced to five years probation and a $500 fine in a plea agreement on a charge of indecency with a child by exposure.

Braeden Antonio Rodriguez was indicted Jan. 25, 2023, on a charge of sexual assault of a child.

The case was heard Monday in the 252nd District Court with Judge Raquel West presiding, during which the prosecution agreed to the plea of a lesser charge of indecency with a child by exposure, according to information from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

The case stems from a 2021 accusation in which a female victim’s mother spoke with the Port Neches Police Department, saying her then 14-year-old daughter had sex with a then 18-year-old male.

An interview with the female at the Garth House revealed the male reportedly stated he was 15.

The male and female met on a social media app and played games together.
