Police in Port Arthur are looking for two men suspected of attempting to steal an ATM from a local business.

Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said authorities were alerted at approximately 5 a.m. Monday of suspicious activity at Gulf Credit Union on Aero Drive. When officers arrived, two men fled the scene into a wooded area and escaped.

The suspects left behind a truck, which they were using to try and remove the ATM from the spot but were unable to.

Duriso said he does not know if the vehicle was reported as stolen at this time.

It is unknown if Monday’s incident in Port Arthur is related to an abandoned truck chained to an ATM machine in Chambers County late last week.
