Ruby Pearl Rawls Knight, 97, of Groves passed away March 7, 2024.

Born in Holy Fork, Tyler County, Texas to Billy and Auary Rawls, she lived in Groves for 34 years while she raised her family.

She moved to Doucette with her husband when he retired in 1984 where they lived on their farm for 31 years.

In 2015 she returned to Groves to be closer to her children. Ruby was a member of First Baptist Church in Woodville for many years as well as Hopewell Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Spurger Chapter No. 315.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, C.M. Knight; parents, William John (Billy) Rawls and Auary Jane Dickerson Rawls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Viola Rawls of Colmesneil, John Boyd and Lucille Rawls of Woodville; one brother, Billie Gene Rawls of Woodville; one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Robert Thompson of Doucette.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Auary Mae and Glenn Gondron of Chandler, Janis and Jim Baker of Lumberton, Rita and James Stroud of Groves, Debbie and Ronald Seifert of Pleasanton; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and seven great, great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Howard and Jerrie Rawls of Woodville; one sister-in-law, Veta Rawls of Woodville and a host of other family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Tolar officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferrell Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas. Visitation will be held Monday from 1 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.

Services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, Texas.
