A 52-year-old Nederland man was indicted this week in connection with the Jan. 16 aggravated robbery of a Beaumont business.
Tarrell Donald Nowlin is being held without bond on a parole violation warrant, according to information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
He still has the aggravated robbery charge, as well.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Beaumont Police Department officers were dispatched to Speedway, 2795 Eastex Freeway, in reference to a robbery.
The clerk told officers a person wearing a mask, blue gloves and gray hat entered the store and blocked the front door from closing. The gunman pointed a silver revolver at the clerk and demanded cash.
The clerk told officers he feared if he didn’t comply he would be shot or killed. Approximately $500 was taken.
Police said surveillance footage allegedly shows Nowlin exiting a gray Dodge Caravan with tape covering the plates, which was parked, on the northeast corner of the business property.
Officers determined the vehicle arrived on the southbound service road and went to a nearby business to review video.
Through investigation police were able to locate Nowlin in a Beaumont hotel. He was detained and brought in for interviews with detectives and ultimately arrested.
Nowlin has two prior felony convictions; second degree robbery in 2012 in Harris County and forgery-financial instrument-elderly, a third degree felony out of Walker County.
