The March Primary election is almost upon us.

Locally on the Republican side, there are two contested races, State Representative District 21 and county commissioner.

• Jefferson County Commissioner Precinct 1: incumbent Vernon Pierce, Brandon Willis

Locally on the Democrat side, there are contested races for State Representative District 22, sheriff, county chair, constable, justice of the peace and precinct chairs.
