The March Primary election is almost upon us.
Locally on the Republican side, there are two contested races, State Representative District 21 and county commissioner.
- State Representative District 21; incumbent Dade Phelan, Alicia Davis, David Covey
- Jefferson County Commissioner Precinct 1: incumbent Vernon Pierce, Brandon Willis
Locally on the Democrat side, there are contested races for State Representative District 22, sheriff, county chair, constable, justice of the peace and precinct chairs.
- State Representative District 22: incumbent Christian Manuel, Al “Jamie” Prince Jr., Luther Wayne Martin III
- Jefferson County Sheriff: incumbent Zena Stephens and Shanter R. Norman
- Jefferson County Democratic Chair: Joseph Trahan, Alfred Dean
- Constable Precinct 1: Jevonne Smith Pollard, Donald Ray Jackson
- Constable Precinct 6: Lawrence Gobert, Everett “Ed” Cormier Sr.
- Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 1: incumbent Naomi Eugenia Doyle, Pamela Terry Haynes
