Clifford Distilling announced a “closing sale” for its Port Arthur location Monday afternoon.

“It is with a sad heart that we will be closing the doors at the Port Arthur location for Clifford Distilling, LLC,” a release on social media said. “We have been working on funding to build a new distillery up on the I-10 corridor between Beaumont and Winnie. That is expected to be a two-year project when the funding comes through.”

In the mean time, company officials said, the operation is losing too much money at the current location.

“With all that said, we are having a closeout sale from 9-5 Friday and Saturday, Jan 26-27,” the notice reported. “We have everything for sale from our forklift to spirits. We will be posting pics of different items for sale.”

The location thanked its patrons for their support.

Sean Clifford opened the location in Spring of 2022 at 235 Procter St.

He named his products in honor of the State of Texas.
