Police investigating kidnapping after victim escapes in Orange County

VIDOR — Police are looking for a suspected kidnapper after a woman told authorities she escaped Thursday night near Interstate 10 in Vidor.

The Vidor Police Department dispatch center received a call of a possible kidnapping victim in the 900 block of North Main Street at 7:42 p.m. Thursday.

The caller advised that a woman had just approached him in a parking lot asking him to call the police.

Authorities are asking businesses along I-10 to review surveillance footage to see if there is any activity during this time frame that may help the investigation.

The victim told police she was kidnapped from a bar in New Orleans and was able to escape in the area of North Main Street and the westbound service road of Interstate 10.

Acadian Ambulance brought the victim to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth in stable condition.

Vidor Police describe the suspect vehicle as a white Cadillac Escalade truck between a 2010 and 2015 model. The truck has three traditional Cadillac rims, and the driver’s side tire is a spare tire with a black rim.

No arrests have been made, and suspect description has not been initially released.
