Authorities have identified the local man killed Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash.

According to the Port Arthur Police Department, the victim is 38-year-old Jeffery Nevills of Groves.

Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. said he received a call at approximately 4:30 a.m. Tuesday of the crash on Texas 82 just past Texas 73.

This is approximately a mile from the intersection of West Pot Arthur Road and Texas 73.

Collins said it was a single-vehicle, single-occupant crash and one person was deceased at the scene.

The name was not released initially, authorities said, pending notification of next of kin.
