NEDERLAND — The longstanding partnership between Philpott Motors and Gift of Life continues with the local business making a sizable donation to the women’s health program.

Norma Sampson, Gift of Life executive director, said Friday’s donation of $13,500 furthers their lifesaving services that aid in providing free care throughout Jefferson County and other service areas.

Philpott hosted its annual Take Out Cancer Survivors’ Drive-Thru Luncheon and made a commitment to donate $50 from every vehicle sold in October.

Bob Thewman with Philpott Motors said the luncheon was an amazing event.

“It’s amazing that a lot of the same women return, so it’s good to see that early prevention is the key and they’ve survived. To see the same happy faces over and over again, over 17 years we’ve been doing this, it’s a great joy,” Thewman said.

Sampson noted the donation stays in Southeast Texas and furthers the Gift of Life’s critical mission.

“Philpott Motors has been deeply committed to reducing healthcare disparities in our region and raising money for lifesaving preventive screenings,” she said.
