With roots in the region for close to 100 years, Entergy Texas officials said they are committed to building a brighter future for Southeast Texas beyond just providing electricity.

To help carry out part of this mission, the company donated more than $1.2 million through its new Entergy Cares initiative.

The initiative helps build a more vibrant community through volunteerism and contributions to support the following key areas: education, healthy families, community involvement and holiday giving.

“At Entergy Texas, we don’t just provide power to the Southeast Texas community, we’re a part of it — which is why we care deeply about finding ways to help our community thrive,” said Eli Viamontes, president and CEO for Entergy Texas.

“By directly giving back and volunteering in our communities, we’re building a brighter future for generations to come.”

In 2022, the company awarded more than 100 non-profit partners and community organizations with $2.8 million in grants, and employees volunteered a total of 17,956 hours.
