GROVES — Dollar General in Groves is back in business, city leaders announced Tuesday.

Groves Fire Investigator/Fire Code Official Josh Nelson said Dollar General at 3800 Main Avenue in Groves corrected the fire code violations that resulted in its closure last week.

At that time, Fire Marshal/Assistant Fire Chief Kelley Moore cited the store for the following life safety violations of the fire code, including products stacked too close to the ceiling, stocking carts blocking customer aisles, overcrowded storage room and inoperable exit sign.

These violations directly impact not only the safety of Dollar General customers but also its employees, according to the City of Groves.

“Follow-up inspections (Tuesday and Wednesday) determined that all of the violations have been cleared,” Nelson said.

“We appreciate Dollar General’s prompt resolution after the closure.”
