Local Workforce Development Boards select employers who make a positive impact on workers, the community, and the state through their partnerships with Texas Workforce Solutions.

A joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical and QatarEnergy will create the Golden Triangle Polymers Company, a world-class integrated polymers facility being built in Orange.

This $8.5 billion project is expected to create approximately 4,500 construction jobs and 500 permanent jobs.

Recruiting local talent in the area is important to the project. CP Chem implemented a “best in class” recruiting model, Local First.

GTPC donated $200,000 to Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas to raise awareness and ensure accessibility to job opportunities by using the easy-to-use job database that was created for local, qualified workers.

To date more than 3,100 customers have registered and more than 1,000 local individuals have been referred to the project.

“Texas employers know the Lone Star State is the best place to start and grow a business,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Joe Esparza. “The Employer of Excellence Award is a tremendous achievement for Texas employers like Chevron Philips Chemical Co. to showcase their dedication to employees in the number one state in the nation.”
