Christmas with Dr. Levy has been a beacon of light to uplift Port Arthur area children for the past 10 years, as arguably the city’s largest toy giveaway.

“We are having our 10th Annual Christmas with Dr. Levy at the Port Arthur Pavilion at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023,” organizers shared.

“Dr. Levy Barnes Jr. partners with other leaders and businesses in the community to hold this event annually, to give hundreds of quality toys, bikes and other giveaways for children. The children we serve are orphans, being raised by single mothers and grandparents, have parents who are incarcerated or deceased, and in families with financial difficulties.”

Organizers don’t require signup. Show up with your child under the age of 14.

Toys are available for children up to 13 years old.

This event services every ethnic group, but a large portion of those served are Hispanic and African Americans, which is why this year the Mexican Heritage Society and Foster a Friend Foundation partnered to turn this into a Christmas extravaganza.

There will be free food, cookies, candy canes, bull rides, train rides, bounce houses, Pinata making, Christmas characters, petting zoo, entertainment and much more.

The event has served toys for up to 724 children a year in Port Arthur.
