New Beginnings Ministries is hosting “Operation Christmas Blessings” Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ecclesia Church, 5900 9th Avenue in Port Arthur.

Though the doors don’t open until 9 a.m., the families start lining up at 7 a.m. with great anticipation to select the items for their children.

At this one-day event, 100 families will have the opportunity to shop for free for 2 new toys/gifts for their 326 children.

The toys/gifts will be wrapped on site by volunteers while the parents are enjoying coffee and snacks.

Dr. Henry Holland, Executive Director of New Beginnings stated, “New Beginnings is a non-profit in Port Arthur and this is the 14th year we have helped families in our community have a brighter Christmas. We appreciate the support from the local business and volunteers that help make this event a huge success.”

The families will also receive a food bag and the mothers will be offered a purse from our Handbags of Hope collection.
