(Editor’s note: On Tuesday morning, superintendent Dr. Mark Porterie said the item concerning the discussion to rename three of the PAISD campuses has been removed from this week’s school board agenda.)

School board members will discuss possible name changes for three Port Arthur public schools.
According to the Port Arthur Independent School District School Board agenda, discussion is scheduled for renaming Woodrow Wilson Early College High School, Abraham Lincoln Middle School and Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
Dr. Mark Porterie said the agenda item is for discussion only and no action would be taken this week.
The school board is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
