Janel M. Dauzat, 69, of Port Arthur passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.
Janel was born on September 12, 1950, in Port Arthur to Lorena Bertolio and Erren Alphonse Begneaud. She lived in the Port Arthur and Nederland area all of her life and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur.
Janel was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandma who loved to take care of the house and especially her family.
She loved to take pictures, tend to her garden, loved to go to the Casino and even found time to sew.
Janel was a wonderful person who loved everyone and everyone loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years, Gerald Dauzat of Port Arthur; son, Waylon Dupree of Houston; step-daughter, Tammy Ard and her husband Chris of Ivanhoe, Texas; sisters, Judy Ann Seekle of Nederland and Cynthia Ruth Brown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; mother-in-law, Audrey Dauzat of Woodville, Texas; sister-in-law, Cindy Thompson and her husband Bill of Warren, Texas; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Janel is preceded in death by her parents, E.A. and Lorena Begnaud.
A “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2020, at St. James Catholic Church, located at 3617 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur.
Cremation burial will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
