PAPD: Mother stabs father of their child during altercation
Port Arthur Police say a local man stabbed by the mother of his child does not want to press charges.
According to Sgt. Shawn Perron, preliminary investigation revealed the victim was stabbed in the midst of an altercation with a female suspect, identified as the biological mother of the victim’s child.
“The victim was adamant that no charges be filed in this matter,” Perron said in a release.
Police did not release a motive for the argument.
The investigation began when officers responded to Park Central Apartments, 8580 Park Central Blvd., in reference to a stabbing at 10:35 p.m. Friday.
Officers located a 39-year-old male with a stab wound to his lower abdomen.
The victim, a Port Arthur man, was conscious and speaking when officers arrived.
The injury did not appear to be life threatening according to EMS personnel, Perron said.
The victim was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth for emergency medical treatment.
Perron said detectives responded to survey the scene and speak with involved parties.
PAPD’s forensic unit was also summoned to photographically document the crime scene and collect pertinent evidence for review.
