A Tuesday evening shooting in Port Arthur sent a man to the hospital, authorities said.

According to the Port Arthur Police Department, officers responded to 1300 11th Street in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival officers discovered a male with a gunshot wound to the upper portion of his body.

Officer John H. Fontenette said the victim was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth for treatment.

As of Tuesday evening, no suspect information was provided.

PAPD’s Detective Division is leading the shooting investigation.
