UPDATE: Man stabbed Monday morning in Sabine Pass sent to hospital

A man received a non-life threatening stab wound after an assault in Sabine Pass Monday morning.
Port Arthur Police Department dispatch received the 911 call at 7:36 a.m. for the stabbing in the 2100 block of South Texas 87.
The victim, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment, was not able to identify the suspect, according to information from PAPD.
Det. Mike Hebert said the detectives had not interviewed the victim as of 3 p.m. Monday and further information such as possible motive was not known.
Police did not release information on whether the victim was a Sabine Pass resident or worked in the area.
