Weather Service shares latest concerns for Tropical Depression Cristobal
Tropical Depression Cristobal is over Mexico right now but is expected to move north across the Gulf of Mexico late Friday through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, flooding is the top concern – from storm surge and rainfall.
“We are expecting one to six inches of rain, with locally higher amounts this weekend into early next week,” Warning Coordination Meteorologist Roger Erickson said.
“Tides are already running a foot above normal and will likely increase this weekend.”
Winds will be tropical storm force in parts of south central Louisiana.
Expect scattered power outages Sunday and Monday in impacted areas.
