When I got back on track with God, I began to pray and study His Word, therefore, using a very powerful sword (the Bible) in my arsenal for help, in this big, bad world!

I use one of my swords in my gardening, but finding out about the one in the Armor of God in the book of Ephesians, chapter 6, is my personal favorite, intense and used mightily, I might add.

In the New Testament there is a Book called Ephesians. I highly recommend reading the whole book. It’s only six chapters and it will reinforce your position as a Christian in your mind and in your heart. This is a letter written by Paul to the saints (believers) living in the area of Ephesus.

This Book tells us of our strengths, unity, walking in Love, family and who we are in Christ (chapter 2). The section I am writing about is in chapter 6 (the whole armor of God)

A sword is usually described as a weapon, for power and war or warfare.

In Ephesians 6:10, we are encouraged to “put on the whole armor of God” in order to stand and stand firm against the schemes of the devil (darkness). The Armor is: (1) the belt of truth, (2) the breastplate of righteousness, (3) feet shod with the gospel of peace (good news shoes), (4) shield of faith, (5) helmet of salvation and (6) sword of the spirit, the Word of God and new God clothes for us!

You’ve all seen jousting matches where horsemen ride their horses with weapons in their hands and covered with armor, sometimes with 14 different pieces from head to toe, trying to knock each other off their rides and fencing with a foil or saber, using a different armor, a little lighter.

A person must be born again, a child of God, to have access to God’s Armor, a spiritual suit of armor. Ask Him into your heart, you are dressed and ready.

Let’s picture the shield of faith, not like a small piece of metal but more like a force field surrounding us and the breastplate of righteousness being in right standing with God, guarding our heart, full of Him, hopefully.

There is Word (sword) to pray to replace every trouble or if we need aid in our lives, then, striking sharply to the root of it with our Sword in the Spirit or for answers for needs, we will have victory.

• Direction in your life: Proverbs 3:6
• Healing: Proverbs 3:7-8
• Legal or unjust: Deuteronomy 28:7
• Job search, work: Deuteronomy 28:12
• Peaceful sleep: Psalm 4:8

Pray and begin to walk in victory!
