Approximately one in seven people entering an emergency room need blood. One pint of blood can save up to three lives.
The time to give blood is now. Exceptional Emergency Centers in Southeast Texas is teaming up with LifeShare Blood Center to host a Blood Drive between noon and 4 p.m. Wednesday (May 27) at Exceptional Emergency Center-Port Arthur located on highway 365.
Organizers are taking specific precautions as a response to the COVID-19 concerns. They ask anyone who has had fever in the last 14 days to wait to donate at a later date.
The U.S. Surgeon General stated that: “You can still go out and give blood. We’re worried about potential blood shortages in the future. Social distancing does not have to mean social disengagement.”
Exceptional Emergency Center is located at 3330 FM 365. Call 409-722-9554 for more information.
Sign-up is not required, and walk-ups are welcome.
