Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, wrote by the command of God and Christ Jesus, (our Hope) in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, charging Timothy to recognize and oppose false teachers, to be renewed, instruct church conduct that he would be dealing with, and instructions on worship.

False teachers

When you know the truth, the knowledge of God, you should be able to listen or read (chew on) outside your church preaching or materials, differentiate, and spit out the bones, so to speak. This is important when some teachers get their opinions mixed up in  preaching the Word.

Jesus said, “Consider what you hear.” Mike and I were taught to, “Preach the Word and Live your convictions!”

Renewal

Hold on to the faith and a good conscience, remembering prophecies given to you and fight the battle well. Those who don’t do this might end up “shipwrecked” screaming, “Help, I’m leaking!” Renew your minds in the Word. — Romans 12:2

Church conduct

This phrase seems too flexible, depending on doctrine, culture and leader requirements. It is a new generation and they are in their own “fashion genre,” not gauging or seeing it as respect or disrespect for church or their services.

When my husband and I began to minister on our own, traveling for 40 years to other countries, prisons, schools and churches, I always leaned on my communication with God and we coordinated our appearance accordingly, sometimes different for places or weather conditions but always in order!

Instructions on worship

“First of all,” petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for all people, for Kings and all those in authority, that we may live a quiet, peaceful life in all Godliness and honesty.

This pleases God and He would that all people be saved and know the truth. True and proper worship is giving yourself over to God, holy and pleasing to Him, according to His scriptures — Romans 12:1

My “first of all” prayers listed above begin my day praying for the President, other leaders, and people who have authority over me, in my church, home, medical and businesses, along with the Wisdom of God.

It is critical to start my day that way as I was trained in prayer, and it works. As an intercessor, I’ve had incredible answers from God and always, minute by minute give thanksgiving, to our God who is so good to us.  Amen.

Try starting your day in prayer!
