Southeast Texas Emergency Relief Fund announced Tuesday it received $250,000 from Motiva Enterprises to support challenges with COVID-19 response in the greater Port Arthur/Jefferson County area.

“On behalf of the SETERF board, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation for Motiva’s continued confidence in SETERF’s ability to successfully manage donations such as this,” said SETERF Board Chairman Robert Edgar. “We are dedicated to assisting the individuals in the community who are most in need.”

Motiva first contributed to SETERF after Hurricane Ike devastated much of Southeast Texas in 2008, and again after Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

“This donation expresses Motiva’s commitment to and concern for the citizens of Southeast Texas,” Edgar said.

“SETERF will work with Motiva to strategically identify impactful ways to help during this pandemic crisis.”

Motiva President and CEO Brian Coffman said Southeast Texas is home to people and organizations that Motiva values immensely.

“We are honored to once again partner with SETERF to make a difference in the community and help those who may have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Coffman said.
