Two people were injured during a Thursday afternoon shootout in Port Arthur.

Authorities were alerted to a “shots fired” report at 2:42 p.m. in the area of 827 Stilwell Blvd.

Shortly after, dispatch notified Port Arthur Police Department officers that a male had been shot.

Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to his neck, another male on scene later determined to be a family member and a suspect.

“The suspect, found to also have been shot in a lower extremity, was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital,” according to a PAPD release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The shooting is under investigation by the Port Arthur Criminal Investigations Division.
