Man shot in Port Arthur not cooperating with police, authorities say

Port Arthur Police said a Beaumont man who sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower body is not cooperating with the investigation.

Officers began their case after responding to a “shots fired” call at 8:42 p.m. Monday at Pebble Creek Apartments, 4251 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.

Responding officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but his condition on Tuesday was not known, PAPD Det. Sadie Guedry said.

Police did not say how or if the victim and shooter knew each other or describe the circumstances surrounding the shooting, citing the victim’s uncooperativeness.

Police did not say if the shooting happened inside an apartment or elsewhere at the complex.

PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.
