The Port Arthur Water Utilities Department has updated information and guidelines for utility billing services and other necessary payments to the city in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The city says that customer service and cashiers will implement social distance guidelines and will be limited to taking drive-thru, online and telephone payments.
Water utility billing payments can be made using the drive-thru window at city hall from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, online at www.portarthurtx.gov or the night drop box.
Acceptable forms of payment are check or money order, cash, credit cards and cashier’s check.
“We ask for your patience and cooperation during this difficult time,” a city statement reads. “Our hope is that we can resume normal service as soon as health and safety guidelines allow. The City of Port Arthur is committed to communicating with the public on how to safely navigate through this crisis and continue to fulfill its duty to provide critical services to its citizens.”
