Alberta McCreary Conner was born on April 15, 1953 to the late Samuel and Doris McCreary of Port Arthur, Texas.

Alberta graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1971 and went on to a business school.

She worked as a homemaker, senior caregiver, and a student tutor with Experience Corps over the years.

Alberta was a member of Antioch Church of Buna, TX and served on the usher board.

Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Doris McCreary; brothers, Samuel Jr and Willie McCreary; and sister Clara McCreary.

Alberta leaves to cherish her memory: her children’s father Edward Conner Sr; children, Edward Conner Jr., Sharhonda Conner, Anitra Petry (Justin) and Derrick Conner; grandchildren, Aaliyah Petry, Justin Petry Jr, and Amiyah Petry; sisters, Linda McCreary (Lionel Loval), Eviedee McCreary and Christy McCreary; along with extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
