The Texas Historical Commission recognized St. Paul United Methodist Church as a significant part of Texas history by awarding it an Official Texas Historical Marker.
The designation honors St. Paul as an important and educational part of local history.
St. Paul will commemorate the event with a Centennial Marker Celebration at 10:30 a.m. March 15 at the church, 821 Freeman Ave. in Port Arthur.
St. Paul, as well as the Jefferson County Historical Commission, welcomes the public to share in and witness the historical celebration.
