The Christus Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County facility officially changed its name to St. Mary Outpatient Center Mid County. The change was made in honor and to preserve the legacy of St. Mary Hospital, which ceased operations in July.

A public ceremony took place Thursday to bless and consecrate the newly renamed facility. Several speakers took the podium to talk about Christus Southeast Texas, St. Mary Hospital and the Outpatient Center, including Chief Operating Officer Ryan Miller, Regional Vice President Dan Ford, Jasper Memorial Hospital President Wayne Moore, newest Christus Southeast Texas board member Pat Avery, director of radiology Kristen Watkins and Christus Southeast Texas President Paul Trevino.

The Rev. Leonard Ogbonna led the consecration ceremony and visited each department at the Outpatient Center to give individual blessings.
