Authorities determined he was too ill for the book-in process to continue. At that time, Postula was taken to Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas and admitted.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Postula died at 4:41 a.m. Friday at the hospital.

An autopsy has been ordered.

Following Postula’s death, authorities notified his family, the Jail Commission and Texas Rangers.
