Port Arthur Police are investigating a killing that took place at approximately 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Officers were alerted to the fatal shooing when responding to the 4500 block of Sunken Court.

Det. Sadie Guedry said police found a male shot at the scene, adding the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

“No one is in custody at this time; however, this is a fluid investigation and PAPD investigators are actively following leads,” Guedry said Wednesday evening. “Further information on this incident will be released at a later date and time.”

Sgt. Shannon Meaux said the victim was a 35-year-old Hispanic, Port Arthur resident who was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower extremities.

This shooting is under investigation by PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division.
