VIDEO: Shot fired during Fuel Depot robbery in Port Arthur

A late-night Port Arthur armed robbery turned up a notch when a shot was fired at a place of business, authorities said.

Port Arthur Police say a male gunman entered Fuel Depot, 700 W. Gulfway Dr., at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday demanding money from the clerk.

Sgt. Timothy Dinger said the gunman fired a single round during the robbery, adding the assailant took the cash drawer and fled the scene with an unknown amount of money.

Police did not immediately release descriptive information on the gunman. Authorities also did not immediately say if there were injuries sustained during the shooting.

PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is working the armed robbery.
