CASA to host Santa Fun Run at Jack Brooks

NEDERLAND — The CASA Santa Fun Run 5K kicks off Saturday morning at Jack Brooks Regional Airport by the Jerry Ware Terminal.

Check-in starts at 8 a.m., and the race starts 9 a.m. A celebration is planned from 9:45 to 11 a.m.

The event is a fundraiser to help CASA of Southeast Texas meet its goal. Officials said they are less than $3,000 away from the $20,000 goal.

All proceeds benefit CASA of Southeast Texas to provide advocates for abused and neglected children in Jefferson County in the pursuit of safe, permanent homes.

There are several ways you can contribute, including sponsoring the event, registering a team or registering as an individual and sharing your fundraising page.

Participants will enjoy links and boudin for breakfast provided by Valero. Other highlights include a Kid Zone area featuring a bounce house, face painting (provided by Valero), Connect Four game, coloring and much more!

Santa will be arriving by helicopter and there will be an opportunity for photos with Santa.
