No injuries in food mart robbery, limited suspect details released

No injuries were reported after a man robbed a store clerk at gunpoint Monday night.

Port Arthur police are now looking for the robber, described as a black male who appeared to be in his late teens to early 20’s, according to PAPD Det. Sadie Guedry.

Police received a report of the robbery at 6:33 p.m. Monday at Family Food Mart, 2735 Seventh St.

Officers do not believe there was anyone else in the store other than the robber and the clerk and it appears the gunman fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

Additional officers arrived and checked the area extensively but did not locate a suspect.

The crime is under investigation by the PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division.
