A suspect has been apprehended, police saying the man robbed one person and assaulted another person Saturday afternoon in Port Arthur.
The suspect was not identified by the Port Arthur Police Department.
Authorities said the robbery took place at 1:07 p.m. at 4800 Highway 365, which is where H-E-B is located.
PAPD Officer John H. Fontenette said as the assailant was fleeing the robbery, “a concerned citizen attempted to help apprehend” the assailant, who then assaulted the concerned citizen.
“The suspect was later taken into custody,” Fontenette said.
PAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the robbery and assault.
