PAPD: 3 caught loading stolen items into victim’s vehicle

Three males, including a teenager, were arrested in Port Arthur, police saying the trio was caught in action burglarizing a local home.

Port Arthur Police Department officers were dispatched at 5:23 p.m. Friday to a residence in the 1100 block of 15th street in reference to a report of a possible burglary in progress.

The homeowner was not at home during the burglary but was notified by a neighbor and immediately called 9-1-1.

Sgt. Jonathan Green said an investigation revealed three males entered the residence without the owner’s consent and began removing items. The suspects were found loading the items into a vehicle that belonged to the owner, police said, and arrested for burglary of a habitation.

Two of the suspects were taken to Jefferson County Correctional Facility for booking.

The third suspect, a juvenile, and was taken to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Facility for booking.

Police did not initially release the suspects’ names.

Green said the Port Arthur Police Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.
