Port Neches and surrounding areas had already been reeling from the effects of an early Wednesday morning explosion at the TPC Group chemical plant on Texas 136 Spur, when a second burst occurred at the facility later that afternoon. The second burst prompted an evacuation order for those within a 4-mile radius of TPC, but that order was lifted Friday morning.
