Several retail and post office box services will be temporarily adjusted in “abundance of caution and to ensure the safety and well-being of postal customers and employees,” the U.S. Postal Service announced Thursday night.

The Port Neches USPS office at 1324 Port Neches Ave., Groves office at 6230 39th St. and Nederland office at 223 N. 14th St. have temporarily suspended their retail, P.O. box and pick-up services. No timeline has been set for when the offices will reopen.

Retail operations and P.O. box mail have been moved to the Beaumont main office at 5815 Walden Rd. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed Sunday.

Mail already inside P.O. boxes at these locations will not be accessible. Only mail processed today and moving forward will be available at the Beaumont location.

Residential customers may pick up mail at the Beaumont main office, as delivery options have been suspended.

“We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience that may be caused by the temporary adjustment,” USPS said in a statement. “We want to offer our assurance that we will work as quickly as possible to reopen, as soon as we can safely do so.”
