Cybersecurity attack strikes PNGISD

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Independent School District experienced a cybersecurity attack Tuesday, it said in a statement.

The district added it’s working with local law enforcement, forensic and cybersecruity specialists for remedies to the attack.

“In the meantime, all technology connections have been discontinued,” the district added.

School officials said district personnel had trouble clocking in this morning, using email or accessing anything on the school district servers.

Officials with the school districts in Nederland and Port Arthur said their districts were not impacted.
