The newest and biggest Boogie’s Express Wash opens Wednesday in Port Arthur.

Owned by Norman and Janice Campbell, the drive-through tunnel car wash takes its name from Norman, who has carried the nickname “Boogie” since he was a baby.

The couple already operates successful car washes in Orange and Bridge City, making expansion to Port Arthur a natural next step.

The Port Arthur location features “ceramic power shield,” a coating that helps whisk water off a vehicle and lasts a couple of days.

To demonstrate the car wash’s effectiveness, Boogie’s Express Wash is offering free washes Wednesday and Thursday to all who stop by the Port Arthur location, 4650 Highway 365. The wash is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Better yet, each free wash Wednesday and Thursday will be Boogie’s top-of-the-line “ultimate” package, which includes wax, polish, shine, rinse, attention to wheels and more.

Something that stays free for customers beyond Thursday is the use of overhead vacuums that are available in the location’s large parking lot after the tunnel wash is complete.

According to the Campbells and location manager Dylan Rahja, repeat customers who value a clean look at all times are sure to benefit from “fast passes.”

For a once-a-month charge, patrons get unlimited access to all of Boogie’s Express Wash’s three locations.

“If you wash more than three times in a month, it is actually cheaper to buy the fast pass,” Janice said. “When you pull up to the gate, the gate will just read your sticker and open up for you. It’s a no brainer and a one-time charge on your credit card each month. You can wash as many times as you want.”

Janice said the growing Mid- and South County population and her roots as a Port Arthur native made this new location a perfect fit.

“We have family and friends all throughout the area,” she said. “We have been in the car wash business for 25 years. We started out with self-serve washes, and then my husband saw the future of tunnels. What we try to do is create a car wash that is fast, easy, convenient and the best wash you can get.

“We’re ready. We’ve been ready. We’re excited for the community and we’re excited, of course, to be through with the building process. This one is a little bigger, the tunnel is a little longer and it has a little more equipment.”

The washing tunnel is 140 feet long and takes approximately three minutes to complete. There are 21 free vacuums.

On average, 37 gallons of water are used to clean each vehicle, and staff members said they remain environmentally conscious, recycling a majority of the water used with each wash.
