PORT NECHES — Port Neches Fire Department will be out collecting money to help other firefighters through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

Donations will be collected from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the fire station.

Fire Capt. Tyler Hebert said they chose different organizations to help and this is their first time to collect for this particular organization.

In the springtime, PNFD takes part in Fill the Boot to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

PNFD has been the recipient of a grant through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation in 2016 for air monitoring equipment.
