New Nederland resident Connie Thay opened Louisiana Donuts and Pastries at 3624 FM 365 in Boston Plaza. The Nederland Chamber of Commerce hosted a grand opening for the bakery and restaurant Friday morning.
Thay, who is pictured with chamber president Diana LaBorde, splits her time between Nederland (weekdays) and Carencro, La. (weekends), the site of her original LDP bakery.
LDP offers a variety of donuts and pastries, including beignets, mini-cake donuts, pepper jack and boudin kolache, breakfast kolache and specially designed donuts like a “Cookie Monster” donut that includes a mini-cookie.
Thay invites the public to ask about her ice cream donut and is offering a dozen glazed donuts for $1.99 for the month of September.
