Port Arthur man, 18, shot; police also working armed robbery from violent Sunday night

A violent Sunday night has Police Arthur Police Department officers following up on armed robbery and shooting investigations.
Shortly after 9:41 p.m. officers learned an 18-year-old Port Arthur man had been shot in his lower extremities.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of a “non-life threatening injury.”
Port Arthur Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the shooting, which authorities said occurred in the Cedar Ridge Apartment Complex on 9th Avenue.
In a separate case, Criminal Investigations Division personnel are investigating an armed robbery and assault targeting out-of-town teenagers.
Police were dispatched at 8:32 p.m. Sunday to 100 Gillham Circle, where they learned a 19-year-old female Beaumont resident was assaulted.
During the assault, assailants also held a 16-year-old male Beaumont resident at gunpoint, demanding his property.
The assailants are believed to have fled the area on foot.
“Officers were able to develop a possible suspect in reference to this offense, and the case is currently under investigation …,” according to a release by authorities.
Suspect information was not immediately shared.
