Early voting opens Monday

Early voting begins Monday for the Port Arthur mayoral race, ending June 18.

Early voting hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m. daily, but hours are extended from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on June 13 and June 18 at City Hall, 444 Fourth St.

Voters can vote early at City Hall or at Port Arthur Public Library.

Voters can submit ballots by mail. Contact the City Secretary’s Office at 409-983-8115 for an application for a ballot by mail.

Applications for ballot by mail may be sent to City of Port Arthur, City Secretary Sherri Bellard, PO Box 1089, Port Arthur, Texas 77641-1089 or City of Port Arthur, City Secretary Sherri Bellard, 444 Fourth St., Port Arthur 77640.

Applications for mail ballots must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The runoff election will be held from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on June 22.

Polling places are:

  • L. Eldridge Community Center, 5262 S. Gulfway Drive, Sabine Pass
  • Memorial 9th Grade Academy, 2441 61st
  • Tyrrell Elementary, 4401 Ferndale
  • Port Arthur Public Library, 4615 Ninth Ave.
  • Port Arthur City Hall, Fourth St.
  • Abraham Lincoln Middle School, 1023 Abe Lincoln

Thomas Jefferson Middle School, 2200 Jefferson Drive.
