Port Arthur police Thursday were investigating a late-night shooting that left a juvenile dead.

Police said they were called to 2248 Gulfway Drive at 10:38 p.m. Wednesday. A shooting had been reported.

Police said a male juvenile — he was described only as black —had been shot and died at the scene from his injuries.

The Criminal Investigation Division was following upon leads and information gathered at the scene, police said.
