Juanita “Cha Cha” Falcon

Juanita “Cha Cha” Falcon, 77, of Port Arthur, TX, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019.  Junita was born on March 30, 1941, to Enriqueta (Reyna) and Steve Adams. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur.  Juanita married the love her life Ruperto Falcon on April 9, 1961 and they were married for almost 58 years.

She was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School, taught CCD at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, was a member of Las Damas Guadalupanas, the Mexican Heritage Society of Port Arthur, and the Aggie Moms Club. She received the Pioneering Women Award in 2007, for her involvement in the community and volunteered countless hours in many organizations and activities in Southeast Texas throughout her life.

Survivors include her three daughters Andrea Velazco and husband Jose of Port Arthur, Nelda Ledezma and husband Maurilio of Beaumont, Celeste Ramsey and husband John of Fannett, sisters Linda Lopez and husband Robert of Groves and Elisa Ledesma and husband Juan of Brownfield, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many devoted nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge special nieces who have always supported Tia Cha, Cissy Sandoval, Theresa Harbert, and Susie Reyes.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Ruperto Falcon, parents Enriqueta and Steve Adams, Sr., and brother Steve Adams, Jr.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 5-8pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30pm at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur, with Rev. Urbano Sáenz, serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
