Eckerman followed that up with a professional career with the Iowa Elite Club, which has completed in South Korea, Italy, Russia, Azerbaijan, Puerto Rico and the U.S. This past summer, she headed up Team Dream, the first all African-American team to win a USA Volleyball Open National Championship.
